Skydiving
. What thrill have your cruise experiences so far been missing? If your answer is skydiving, then the Quantum of the Seas is definitely the ship for you. For the first time, you’ll be able to experience the exhilaration of skydiving while out on the open sea, thanks to the new ship’s skydiving simulator. The attraction known as RipCord, created by iFly, offers the feel of skydiving without the need for a plane. Instead, you’ll be in a glass chamber that uses wind tunnel technology. You’ll take a training course, suit up in skydiving gear, and receive coaching from trained instructors before you take your flight.

360° Aerial Views of the Sea. Part of the appeal of a cruise is the gorgeous views of the ocean, but sometimes you just can’t get the views you want from the deck. If you want to get a full view of the water all around you, then the Quantum of the Seas has created the answer for you. The ship features the North Star, which is an observation bubble crafted out of glass and steel that can lift passengers up to a height of 300 feet above sea level. Up to 13 passengers will be able to go up in the North Star at once (pictured above.)

Indoor active spaces aren’t new, but the SeaPlex on the Quantum of the Seas promises to be the largest indoor active space at sea, an impressive accomplishment. The activities that will take place within the SeaPlex are varied, so there’s something for everyone inside. Some activities that are new to cruise ships include bumper cars, roller skating, and a circus school complete with flying trapeze. There will also be a basketball court and a dance floor with music orchestrated by a DJ in a floating DJ booth.  Lots to do both day and night, and no need to worry about the weather.

The innovations that characterize the Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas might prove to be game-changers for cruise goers, who will certainly be experiencing a quantum leap forward in cruise ship activity and entertainment. The new ship is highly anticipated, and the interest will only grow as people begin raving about their experiences!
